This Ironman #9 preview re-tells Korvac's lineage story - and boy is it a doozy. As originally told aside creators Steve Gerber and Jim Starlin, Korvac is from a 31st 100 Earth where the satellite has been conquered by a animal race of aliens titled the Badoon. Korvac, then a computer technician, sells tabu the world and becomes a collaborator with the Badoon empire in exchange for wealth, safety, and a second of power. After his plan is carried out though, the Badoon balk at the united reinforcement and instead pay him back by chopping off the bottom half of his trunk and replacement it with a political machine.

In previous issues of the current Iron Man serial, Korvac was resurrected in an mechanical man body, proceeding to march on a tear to rule the universe. His master plan? Utilise Galactus' ship to give him godlike powers. The problem is atomic number 2's haunted by the memory of the Badoon and what they did to him.

Presbyopic fans will remember he dependable this before (and succeeded) in the standard storyline 'The Korvac Saga,' only to be stopped by the combined forces of the Avengers and the original Guardians of the Galaxy (who are from the said future as Korvac).

In Korvac's second base attempt to rule the universe using Galactus tech, Ironman isn't career in the Avengers to contain him - instead, atomic number 2 assembles a novel team made up of Hellcat, War Car, Misty Knight, Gargoyle, Anuran-Gentleman's gentleman, and Halcyon.

"After discovering the strange new sensation of self-doubt, Korvac and his crew take a roundabout way in deep space to search for an unlikely ally," reads Marvel's verbal description of Iron Man #9. "But changeover can often be difficult, and soon Korvac is left wondering if He'll ever have any followers born from faith rather than fear."
